Shopping Humor

I know I haven't posted in a while, but life has been pretty hectic around here, as usual. I'm forever running errands and chauffeuring kiddos on a daily basis, and have little time for much else. Today, I did grocery shopping at Wal-Mart Supercenter. For a change, I actually remembered to use my reusable bags that I've collected. I'm so proud. Normally, I either leave them at home or in the car! Now when I empty them out, I either put them by the front door or run out to the car and throw them in the back. Anyway, today I remembered and when I got to the checkout, I handed them to the cashier. As I was putting my groceries on the belt to be scanned, the cashier stopped and told me that she had to tell me something. First she asked if I had noticed the look on her face when I handed her the bags. Honestly, I hadn't. I purposely hadn't looked at her, because the other day when I used a couple of the bags at the Neighborhood Wal-mart Market, I didn't hand them to the cashier fast enough before she started slinging everything into the plastic bags. When I did hand them to her, she sighed "loudly" and gave me her best annoyed look! I apologized and ignored her from there on. Well, today I didn't look up for that reason, but I did get them to her before she started scanning. She told me that she looked at me funny because people usually hand her nasty bags with dirt and dog hair on them! EEEWWWWW!!!! She said she was so shocked to get such clean ones that she had to say something to me! I had to laugh out loud! Even after scanning my kajillion coupons, she thanked me again for having such clean bags and making her day! Even told me to come to her line next time I come in! Too funny!

  1. Hi Diva Mom. I do the same thing in forgetting the bags. Walmart doesn't give you 5 cents a bag deduction but other store do. At least grocery stores. I now put my bags and I have lots, in the back seat of my car. When I get in my car to go do my shopping, I take them from the back and put them in the front seat with me. That way I don't forget. It's great that you too are using the bags and as for having dirty bags, what I do is once a month wash them and hang them outside and then back in the car they go. Thx for sharing Diva and I hope you have a Happy Easter.
