Okay, you're probably wondering what in the world is in this picture. Well, it's 24 degrees outside and that is the ice on my front window!!! I took this a few hours ago, and had planned on getting a picture of the ice on the tree. That would've required going outside (not happening), since ice had formed on the window and you can't see out! Yesterday morning, when I got up around 5:30am, it started off at 36 degrees and dropped to 31 by 10:30am, when I had to take Dee-Dee's algebra book to her that she left in the car! Anyhoo, it stayed that way until I picked my hubby up from work about 3:20. He got out early because of the weather. Then we went out to Sears to get the TV to replace the one upstairs in the gameroom that shuts off by itself. Hubby was anticipating the kids being home due to the ice, so we were going to get it, but none were in stock in our price range. Sooooooo.......they'll be watching our spooky TV (they are out of school today) until we can venture out into the frozen tundra again.
Our trip to Sears was not in vain, because darling hubby purchased my dream machines!!!! I'm getting my much awaited and dreamed about Electrolux Steam Washer & Dryer! Yay me! Thank you Jesus!!! I really wanted the Turquoise Sky ones, but Island White was $100 cheaper for each piece, or so we thought. I say that because, when I got home I checked the website to get the dimensions for laundry room planning, and lo and behold, I discover that the saleslady ordered the wrong one!!! Actually, the price for the turquoise and the white are the same. The cheaper one doesn't have the steam! Hubby was really impressed with the steam feature on the dryer, since he's ex-military and is a serious iron-er! I compared the item numbers with the ones on the internet, and she ordered the steam dryer with the no-steam washer. Weird part is that the steam washer is the same price for both colors, but the non-steam one is cheaper in white than in the dark blue! Well, needless to say, later on this morning I'll be calling Sears back! I'm so thrilled and feeling very blessed right now! Hubby can really be amazing! Once we get the right ones ordered, we'll get the right delivery date and I'll be posting pics!!! I want to have my laundry room painted aqua (compensates for not getting the turquoise color) and have cabinets installed above them.
I'm getting off the computer now and going to bed! Two o'clock in the morning....pityful!
I really didn't think I was going to take this long to post, but it's been a long month already! I feel like I've fallen so behind in so many areas, but my desire is to catch up with everything, including blogging. I'm new to this and didn't realize how quickly I could get behind! First, I want to thank Regina from Regina's Family Seasons, who was so sweet to give me two awards! Wow! I never imagined I'd get an award for this and especially so soon after starting my blog! I just want to say thank you, Regina, for making me feel so special! You are truly a blessing and I hope to get to meet you one day! Now if I can only figure out how to accept them! I have no idea how to do a link (not that advanced yet!) or get the awards from her page! Arggggggh!!!! I hate being a newbie! LOL
Second, this past weekend has been a blur at my house! We finally decided to have the boys' rooms painted so we could set up their rooms and get all four out of one room! My aunt's ex-husband (my uncle?) is an awesome handyman (can do it all!) and was able to come from Frisco, where he lives, and paint both rooms. I know a lot of you are probably great at painting, but I am so not a painter! I've given it my best shot, but it usually has to be redone or finished by a professional. I figured, why bother this time going through the motions? Just hire someone!!! We had been quoted exhorbitant prices and then I remembered he had done a lot of work for my aunts and cousin, so when I saw him a few weeks ago, I asked how much he would charge. He told me $30 a room, which was a steal (gave him a little more though for the great job)! He even said he'd come back and paint my laundry room when I get my new washer & dryer. Of course I'll be posting about that after income tax time! He just finished today (three days total) and I will post pics as soon as I get things situated.
So, that's what my month has been like! Thanks for putting up with my delays!
First of all, Happy New Year to All!!! My new year has gotten off to a stellar start, with my hubby going to the ER twice (he's home and doing better, Praise the Lord!) and me having wonderful sinus issues. It's not full blown yet (not trying to claim it), but my eyes feel funny and I'm sneezing up a storm. Claritin isn't working, so I'm going to the store tomorrow to get some Allegra-D! My decorations are still up, due to no energy this weekend after the hospital trips. I intended to post my decorations before Christmas and even join in on at least one of the Tour of Homes posts, but it didn't happen. I worked just about everyday up until Christmas and the day after. Plus, I had to squeeze in shopping and wrapping gifts along with six kids being home! Things just didn't go as planned, but such is life! Anyhoo, I'm showing off my decorations even though they are late. This is my first year at blogging, so hopefully by next Christmas I'll have it (and everything else) down to a science!!! (ha ha!)

I'm a blessed mom with a sweet husband and six beautiful children. I love the Lord and want to do all that I can to please Him! I love going to church and participating in church-related activities. I love doing things for my family and just hanging out with them. I love all things girly, like purses, clothes, shoes, jewelry and makeup! I sell Avon and love watching women light up with the products they purchase. I love my life and thank God for it! I hope that this blog can be a blessing to others as others have been to me!
