Last week, snow was in the forecast for our area. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that we would get almost a foot of snow!!! It started around 2 o'clock in the morning on Thursday and continued throughout the day, stopping around six that evening. The kids came home an hour early and were out of school on Friday. Here are some pics below of what it looked like.
This was early Thursday morning after the boys left for school. See their footprints by the car? lol Christian was so excited, he asked if he could make step foots in the snow!!! lol
This was the back yard around 7:30 in the morning.
This is how my "big red bus" looked the next day.
The kids having fun in the snow.
Our version of Frosty!
It was beautiful to look at, but not so fun to walk in! It was thick and slushy! First time I ever had to shovel snow! Thank God I knew what the shovel looked like and how to use it! lol (resourceful diva) It was even more interesting when I went to the store and right before I parked, what was on the roof that I couldn't reach (big red bus is kinda tall), slid right down on the windshield as I was about to turn into the parking space. Sooooo, I had to hold up traffic by getting out of the car and frantically try to wipe it off so I could see! A nice passerby offered me his long handle brush to get it off! News flash: There ARE some nice people in Cowtown! You know I can't do anything without a touch of comedy added! Of course, I've been in Texas most of my life, so I'm not used to all of this. My hubby called me a "newbie" when I was explaining what it looked like and all the associated adventures over the phone! He's from Kentucky. Hence, the newbie remark. He was in Florida for a conference all last week, so he didn't get to see it until Friday evening, after I trudged to the airport to pick him up!
Anyway, it was quite a memorable experience. It's mostly melted now, but there are white piles here and there, with an occasional snowman hanging around. Check out my Facebook page for more pics. I didn't want to make this the longest post ever!
Be Blessed!
